So here I go boasting again, but this time it’s with all sorts of good intentions. Teens don’t read? And don’t read long fiction online? Here’s a comment I received from 13-year-old Nick about Mortal Ghost last night which makes me giddy with delight. It feels as if I’ve just won the Booker (though I’m thoroughly anti-prize). Even my own family tells me I’m mad to publish on the internet. Guys, you’re wrong, and this one reader alone is enough to prove it:

Wow, I am on chapter 41 and all I can say this is a GREAT book. There are a couple of problems with it, but even with the problems, it is still an amazing book. I don’t think I have ever said that or even thought that about a book till now. I am dying to read it, but my touch is charging, so I can’t. Anyways, thank you for the amazing book.

    Thanks, LM and Eli. I tell myself that readers don’t matter, but of course I’m telling myself a half-truth, as I often do. Otherwise, why would I be so pleased?
